Revital Cohen
Visiting Researcher
Revital Cohen is a London based artist working across objects, installation, painting, and film. Her collaborative work with Tuur Van Balen looks at materials, processes, behaviours and feelings formed by mass production of objects and animals.
Cohen and Van Balen’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Mostyn Gallery, Llandudno (2023); Ghost 2565, Bangkok (2022); Museum Tinguely, Basel (2022); E-WERK Luckenwalde (2022); Serpentine Galleries, London (2021); the 13th Shanghai Biennale at the Power Station of Art (2021); Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome (2021); Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2021); Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2020); Philadelphia Museum of Art (2019); Toronto Biennial of Art (2019); The Renaissance Society, Chicago (2018); Fotomuseum Winterthur (2018); Para Site, Hong Kong (2016); Kunstverein Düsseldorf (2016); Lunds Konsthall (2016); Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Vienna (2015); Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (2015); Congo International Film Festival, Goma (2015); and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (2013).
It has been widely published in books, catalogues, and journals, including Afterall (2025), Art Review (2023), Monopol (2022), Artforum (2021), Texte zur Kunst (2018), Cultural Politics (Duke University Press, 2016), and Rare Earth (Sternberg Press, 2015). Their monograph ‘Not What I Meant but Anyway’ was published by Columbia Books on Architecture and the City in 2022.
Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Castello di Rivoli, Turin; Mu.ZEE, Ostend; and M+ Museum, Hong Kong.
